The short version
- We collect what we need to run your account and record clicks on your links. We don't sell personal information.
- When someone clicks a tracked link, we record their IP address, browser, referring page and approximate location so you can see your stats.
- Your card details go straight to the payment platform you bought through. We never see or store them.
- We use a short list of service providers (hosting, email, payments and so on). They're all named below.
- Email support@simpleclicktracker.com any time to get a copy of your data or have your account deleted.
1. Who we are
Simple Click Tracker Pro ("SCT Pro", "we", "us") is a hosted link tracking service operated by NAMS, Inc., 203 CR 890, Etowah, TN 37331 USA. This policy covers:
- this website, simpleclicktracker.com;
- the SCT Pro app at app.simpleclicktracker.com, its API and its AI-assistant (MCP) connection;
- the tracked links we serve, both on our own domains and on custom domains our customers connect;
- our conversion tracking script and pixel, and the SCT Connect WordPress plugin.
It explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the choices you have. Using the service also means agreeing to our Terms of Service.
2. Information about customers
"Customers" are the people and businesses who sign up for SCT Pro, including team members and the users of a reseller's white-label account.
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address and password. We store your password only as a one-way hash, never in readable form.
- Security settings: if you turn on two-step sign-in, we keep your authenticator secret (encrypted), hashed backup codes and a record of devices you've chosen to trust.
- Your content: the links, destination URLs, domains, groups, split tests, social-preview titles, descriptions and images, notes and settings you create.
- Team invitations: the email addresses of people you invite to your account.
- Support messages: what you send us by email, through the in-app help widget or through the AI help assistant.
- Imports and connections: data you import from other tools (for example a Bitly or Pretty Links CSV export, or a ClickMagick API key you give us) and the websites where you activate the SCT Connect plugin.
Information we collect automatically
- Sign-in and security records: the date and time of sign-ins and sign-in attempts, with the IP address and browser used. We use these to block break-in attempts and to show you recent activity.
- Server logs: like most websites, our web servers log each request: IP address, browser, the page requested and the time.
Information from other companies
- Purchases: when you buy through a checkout platform (currently WarriorPlus, Stripe or Systeme.io), that platform tells us your name, email address, which plan you bought, its sale or subscription ID and whether it's active, refunded or canceled. We use this to create and manage your account. We never receive or store your full card number.
- Google sign-in: if you choose "Sign in with Google", Google shares your name, email address and Google account ID with us.
3. Information about link visitors
"Link visitors" are people who click a link that one of our customers created with SCT Pro.
What we record on each click
- the IP address of the device that clicked;
- the browser's "user agent" (which describes the browser, operating system and device type);
- the referring page, if the browser sends one;
- any campaign tags in the link (UTM tags and a tracking ID);
- the approximate country and city, looked up from the IP address;
- the link clicked and the date and time.
We use the IP address to tell new visitors from repeat visitors, to filter out bots and blocked IP addresses, and to look up approximate location. Clicks we recognize as coming from known bots aren't recorded.
Conversion tracking
If a customer adds our conversion script or pixel to their pages, we assign each visitor a random visit ID and store it in a cookie for 30 days. When that visitor later reaches a "thank you" page, we use the ID to match the sale or sign-up back to the link they clicked. If no ID is available, we may match on IP address and browser within 60 minutes of the click.
The visit ID is random. Our conversion tracking doesn't collect a visitor's name, email address, payment details or order amount.
Who is responsible for link-visitor data
Our customers decide which links to create, where to share them and whether to use conversion tracking. For click data, the customer is the business responsible for it (the "controller" in GDPR terms), and we process it on the customer's behalf to provide their reports. If you clicked a link and have a question about your data, it's best to contact the business that shared the link. You can also contact us, and we'll help or pass your request on.
Customers who use SCT Pro on their own sites are responsible for telling their visitors about tracking and, where the law requires it, getting consent for cookies.
4. This website
simpleclicktracker.com doesn't use advertising cookies or analytics tools such as Google Analytics. A few things on these pages load from other companies:
- Google Fonts serves our typefaces, so Google receives your IP address and browser details when a page loads.
- WarriorPlus runs our checkout buttons and order pages. Its script on our home page may set cookies, for example to credit an affiliate who referred you. Purchases are handled under WarriorPlus's privacy policy.
- Some pages load JavaScript libraries from public content delivery networks (jQuery, jsDelivr, cdnjs), which receive standard request data.
- Cloudflare Turnstile is used by our free tools to check that a person, not a bot, is using them. It may set a temporary cookie and receives standard request data. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
- Plausible Analytics counts visits to our home page, features page, articles and free tools pages, and clicks on their buttons. It doesn't use cookies or collect personal information. See Plausible's data policy.
The free tools at simpleclicktracker.com/tools/ that check a web address (the redirect, broken link and link preview checkers) send that address to our servers so we can visit it for you. We don't store the addresses you check or what we find.
5. Cookies and local storage
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Local storage works much the same way. Here's what SCT Pro uses:
On tracked links and customers' pages (link visitors)
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
sct_ct | Random visit ID used to match a later sale or sign-up to the link that was clicked. Also stored in local storage by the conversion script. | 30 days |
sct_split_dest_* | Keeps a visitor on the same page version in a split test. | 30 days |
sct_sp_*, sct_seq_*, sct_random_* | Remembers where a visitor is in a link rotator so they get a consistent experience. | 30 days by default; the customer can set 1–365 days |
sct_probe | Briefly checks which domain the conversion cookie can be set on, then is removed. | Seconds |
In the SCT Pro app (customers)
| Name | What it does | How long |
|---|---|---|
sctpro_user_sess | Keeps you signed in while you sign up, sign in and use two-step sign-in. | Until you close your browser |
sct_mfa_device | Remembers a device you chose to trust, so you aren't asked for a code every time. | 30 days |
sctpro_access_token (local storage) | Your sign-in token for the app. | 24 hours |
Other sctpro_* local storage | Remembers small preferences, such as the domain you last used and your help-chat history. | Until cleared |
On the free tools pages
The UTM link builder remembers your last source, medium and campaign in your browser's local storage so you don't have to retype them. The tools that check web addresses keep a short-lived verification pass in your browser's session storage, so you can run several checks without repeating the human check. The remembered values stay in your browser. The pass is sent to our servers with each check.
The app also loads Google reCAPTCHA on the sign-up page and the Help Scout help widget after you sign in. Both may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you do, tracked links will still work, but rotators may treat you as a new visitor, sales may not be matched to clicks, and you may not be able to stay signed in to the app.
6. How we use information
- To provide the service: redirect links, record clicks and conversions, show reports and run split tests and rotators.
- To run your account: create your account from a purchase, apply your plan's limits, process refunds and cancellations, and send account emails such as email verification, password resets and sign-in codes.
- To keep things secure: stop break-in attempts, detect abuse such as spam or phishing links, and check the reputation of connected domains.
- To support you: answer questions, fix problems and, when you ask us to look into something, view your account as you see it.
- To improve SCT Pro: understand how features are used and what needs fixing.
- To share insights: We may publish aggregated statistics that can't identify you, your links or your domains.
- To meet legal obligations: keep tax and transaction records, respond to lawful requests and enforce our Terms.
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on these legal bases: performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running a secure and reliable service (for example security logs and abuse prevention), meeting legal obligations, and your consent where we ask for it.
We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We don't use your links or click data to train AI models.
7. Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers who help us run SCT Pro and only as much as each one needs. The current list:
| Provider | What they do for us |
|---|---|
| DigitalOcean | Hosts our servers and databases (United States). |
| Amazon Web Services (SES) | Sends account emails. |
| WarriorPlus, Stripe, Systeme.io | Checkout, billing and subscription management. |
| IPinfo | Looks up approximate country and city from IP addresses. |
| APIVoid | Checks domains against security blocklists. |
| reCAPTCHA spam protection on sign-up, optional Google sign-in, and website fonts. | |
| Cloudflare | Turnstile human check on our free tools. |
| Plausible Analytics | Cookie-free visit and button-click counts on our public website pages. |
| OpenAI | Powers the AI help assistant in the app. Your questions to the assistant are sent to OpenAI to generate answers. Your links and click data are not. |
| Help Scout | The in-app help widget and our help documentation. |
| Let's Encrypt / ZeroSSL | Issues the security (HTTPS) certificates for custom domains, which involves your domain name. |
We may also share information:
- within your account: team members you invite can see the links and reports they have access to. If your account is provided by a reseller, that reseller can see and manage it;
- with integrations you connect: such as a ClickMagick account you import from, or the WordPress sites where you install SCT Connect;
- for legal reasons: to comply with the law or a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our customers, the public or us;
- in a business transfer: if NAMS, Inc. or SCT Pro is sold, merged or reorganized. The new owner would have to honor this policy.
8. How long we keep it
- Account information and your content are kept while your account is open. After you cancel, we keep them so your links keep redirecting during the grace period described in our Terms, and so you can come back. Ask us and we'll delete them (see your choices).
- Click and conversion records are kept for as long as your account exists, so your reports stay complete. Some plans automatically delete clicks older than a set number of days, and those clicks are then permanently removed. All of them are deleted when your account is erased.
- Free tool checks: when you use a free tool that checks a web address, we keep your IP address and the tool's name for up to 2 days to prevent abuse. We don't store the addresses you check.
- Server logs are rotated automatically and overwritten as they fill up, usually within weeks.
- Sign-in records and support conversations are kept to protect your account, prevent abuse and help with future questions. Some of these may be kept for a while after your account is closed.
- Purchase and tax records are kept as long as the law requires, even after the account is closed.
9. Security
We protect information with HTTPS everywhere, hashed passwords and API keys, optional two-step sign-in, sign-in throttling, and access to production systems limited to the staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but if we learn of a breach affecting your information, we'll notify you as the law requires.
You can help by using a unique password, turning on two-step sign-in and keeping your API keys private.
10. Your choices and rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- access the personal information we hold about you or get a copy of it;
- correct it if it's wrong. You can change most account details yourself in the app;
- delete your account, including its links, domains and click records. Deleted data can't be recovered, and your links stop working once it's done. We may keep limited records where we have a good reason to, such as security and sign-in logs, support conversations, and purchase and tax records, and copies in backups until they're overwritten;
- object to or limit certain uses, or withdraw consent you've given.
To make a request, email support@simpleclicktracker.com from the address on your account. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we'll respond within 30 days (or sooner where the law requires). We won't treat you differently for using these rights. You can export your links from the app at any time.
California and other U.S. states: residents of states with privacy laws (such as California's CCPA) have the rights above, the right to know what categories of information we collect (described in sections 2–4) and the right to appeal a decision we make about a request by replying to our response. We don't sell or "share" personal information as those laws define it.
Europe and the UK: you also have the right to data portability and the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Link visitors: because click data belongs to the customer who shared the link, we'll usually pass your request to that customer, or handle it with their permission.
11. International users
SCT Pro is run from the United States, and our servers are in the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S., where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses for these transfers.
12. Children
SCT Pro is a business tool for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We'll update this policy when our practices change and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll email account holders or post a notice in the app before it takes effect.
